Raytheon Technologies Invention Convention U.S. Nationals 2021, Powered by The Henry Ford Honors More than 60 Student Inventors During Virtual Ceremony

On June 24, 2021, more than 60 students from across the nation were honored for their problem-solving inventions inspired by current global issues or difficulties found in their everyday lives, during the Raytheon Technologies Invention Convention U.S. Nationals, powered by The Henry Ford. Raytheon Technologies has been a partner and presenting sponsor of Invention Convention U.S. Nationals since 2016. The sixth annual event marks the first time Raytheon Technologies has joined as the title sponsor. More than 400 award-winning K-12 inventors participated in this year’s virtual event hosted by The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation correspondent Albert Lawrence.

Summer Happens at The Henry Ford with Salute to America: Summer Stroll and the return of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to Greenfield Village June 30 – July 3

Music, fireworks and safe fun for the whole family will happen this summer at The Henry Ford. After a pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, The Henry Ford and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) are continuing their more than 25-year partnership in 2021 with a safe expression of the traditional Salute to America event. Salute to America: Summer Stroll will take place in Greenfield Village Wednesday June 30 thru Saturday, July 3 from 6 pm to 10 pm. Member tickets are officially on sale today, May 26, with non-member tickets on sale Wednesday, June 2.

THF Conversations Hosts Winning at Le Mans: Exploring the Ford GT’s 2016 return to the 24 hours of Le Mans’ Winner’s Circle 50 Years to the Day of Ford’s 1966 Victory June 15, at 6:30 pm

On June 15 at 6:30 pm, The Henry Ford will host Ford Performance Motorsports Global Director Mark Rushbrook, Ford GT driver Joey Hand and Multimatic Inc. President and Chief Operating Officer Raj Nair for THF Conversations, Winning at Le Mans: Exploring the Ford GT’s 2016 Return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans’ Winner’s Circle 50 Years to the Day of Ford’s 1966 Victory. Hosted over Zoom, the discussion will be moderated by The Henry Ford’s curator of transportation, Matt Anderson.

Invention Convention Michigan Sending 15 Student Inventors to Raytheon Technologies Invention Convention U.S. Nationals Powered by The Henry Ford

On April 28, 2021, The Henry Ford’s Invention Convention Michigan honored student inventors for their outstanding inventions and problem-solving solutions during a virtual awards ceremony. Based on this year’s entries, 15 student inventors from across the state will be participating in the Raytheon Invention Convention U.S. Nationals, powered by The Henry Ford, taking place virtually on June 24, 2021.

The Henry Ford is excited to announce The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited opening inside the Gallery by General Motors in Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. Organized by the Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI), the traveling exhibition opens June 5, 2021 through Sept. 6, 2021 and is a version of MoMI’s ongoing The Jim Henson Exhibition, on permanent view in New York City.

The Henry Ford Acquires Navya Autonom Shuttle Used by Mcity

The Henry Ford announced today the acquisition of a Navya Autonom Shuttle. Donated by Mcity, a public-private connected and automated vehicle research partnership led by the University of Michigan, the vehicle was used as part of the first driverless shuttle project in the United States focused on user behavior. The research project studied how passengers, pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers interacted with the autonomous vehicle. With the shuttle, The Henry Ford also receives the extensive data processed by market research firm J.D. Power regarding rider interaction, providing a window into the reactions, concerns and doubts from some of the very first passengers to experience this technology in a routine setting.
